The International Freeskiers & Snowboarders Association (IFSA) is proud to announce that plans are under way to launch the Collegiate Freeride Series (CFS) for the 2014-2015 winter season. The CFS is designed to allow young freeriders to gain more experience in big mountain competition as well as allow member schools to build points towards overall collegiate titles.
The CFS will travel to three top-tier resorts in its inaugural year. The first stop will be Grand Targhee, followed by Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The first ever CFS Finals will be held at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort.
Hey, athletes! 2015, here we come! The first IFSA regional comp of 2015 will be held at Beartooth Basin Summer Ski Area. Beartooth is located at about 11,000' high in Montana’s Beartooth Mountains, and has long been a destination for international skiers to hone their skills during the late spring months. Established in 1962, Beartooth was originally organized as a summer racing camp by a group of Austrians. The area has since evolved to host a variety of camps, events, and competitions, as well as day skiers and boarders. Beartooth Basin offers a great wilderness experience mixed in with lift access skiing for big mountain skiers, racers or whoever wants to improve their skiing skills in the off season. Join your fellow athletes for the season opener with this two-run format event on June 17th and 18th. The event is open to skiers and boarders, with the Under 12, 12-14 and 15-18 age categories. Lodging is available in Red Lodge, or choose to enjoy a nearby camping spot in one of Custer National Forest’s thirteen campgrounds.

"The IFSA bids farewell to the graduating seniors on the tour. Many of these athletes have competed in national level big mountain freeriding competitions since they were 12 years old. They will now move on to college, careers, and adult freeriding competitions. The IFSA wishes the 2014 graduates all the best in their future endeavors," said IFSA president Scott Mahoney.
Graduate Taylor Pratt leaves us with this quote:
"It's been one heck of a journey on this tour. I've been so lucky to have been able to travel on the IFSA tour for so many years and it's been so cool to have met so may people and made so many memories. As I took my last run yesterday, even with a bobble, all I could do was smile and think of the great times I've had. I want to thank everyone of the past few years for all the support, love and extremely high vibes. It means so much to me to have so many rad people surrounding me. But for now, I gotta move on, go to college and take what I've learned as a junior into the big boy tour."
