How was the FWQ season for you this year?
The season was one for the books. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to be with the freeride community and to take part in events despite the crazy times we were in. This year, I’ve become even more appreciative of the opportunities we have to come together and ride! When I missed the cut in the FWT, I immediately booked my flight back to the states to make it to the FWQs. After COVID tests and required down time upon arriving in the US, I was able to make it to all of the FWQ events. It was a treat to have a freeride competition back in Snowbird and I was stoked to ride North Chute! The season flew by, but I’m so glad I got to compete with my friends and earn my spot back on the FWT.

What are you up to this summer preparing for FWT? Any exciting projects planned?
Since I take the winter semester off to compete, I spend my summers taking classes to stay on track to get my degree. I’m also running my software business, which keeps me busy! Other than that, I’ll be climbing as many peaks around Montana as possible and river surfing quite a bit!
I’m putting in gym time, watching replays of competition runs, and mentally preparing for the FWT. I started working with Sam Van de Velde at Lone Peak Performance in Big Sky to get as strong as possible for next season. Sam specializes in training snowboarders and he has definitely been kicking my butt with some good workouts. Other than that, I just can’t wait to get back in the start gate… I’m pumped.

Anyone you look up to or inspires you? Anyone you look forward to competing with on FWT?

GiGi Rüf has always inspired me. His flowy riding, methods, and line choices are unparalleled. I respect how he balances and integrates snowboarding with family life and business as well.

As always, Warren Doyle and Ben Speirs are by biggest inspirations (check out "Bridger Days" on youtube).

I’m looking forward to spending time with the whole FWT family again and am thankful for the opportunity!
