Tell us about your favorite FWQ competition run in 2019.

Each comp run on the FWQ circuit is so different due to varying terrain and conditions as well as my mood on that particular day that it’s hard to pick just one. Therefore, my favorite two runs would be from the Crested Butte and Kirkwood events. Crested Butte was steep and scary due to all the rocks, trees, and snow conditions that day and I was happy just to make it down alive. It might be the most instant 0 to 100 venue on the FWQs and getting 5th was a nice cherry on top. Kirkwood is my favorite spot to compete (see below) and I am honored to have taken the top spot there especially with the multitude of insane runs that other skiers put down. The weather and snow conditions might not have been the best but I was so inspired by all the homies and insane skiing going down that I forced myself to ski the exact line I wanted and that I knew I could ski even if I was a little nervous.

Where is your favorite place to compete?

My favorite FWQ location is Kirkwood because I learned to ski big mountain in Tahoe and the terrain around that area really fits with my style of skiing. Riding around my home mountains is great because I get to see old friends who inspire me and be in an area I’m familiar with.

What is your favorite part about the Freeride community?

There are a lot of great things but the camaraderie, the friends, and the traveling top the list. Exploring skiing destinations with the welcoming and friendly Freeride community is always a great time. You get to see different styles of skiing and watch competitors in their element pushing themselves and inspiring others to do the same. There’s nothing quite like the fun of after comp group shreds.

How are you preparing for your rookie year on the 2020 FWT?

I'm going to ski as long as possible into the summer as climbing, biking, and a little running take over my time. I mostly just try to stay as active as possible by having as much fun as I can while trying to balance some work into my life as well.

What are you most looking forward to on the FWT Tour?

There are so many things I’m looking forward to on the 2020 FWT tour. Visiting new places, skiing new faces, meeting new people, making new friends, and so much more all while learning tons along the way. Mainly, I’ve never skied outside of the Americas before so just going to all these new places to ski is going to be unreal let alone being there with some of the best skiers in the world.
