Crested Butte Regional Freeskiing Champs - CANCELLED
The International Freeskiers and Snowboarders Association was established in 1996 by freeskiing pioneer Shane McConkey. The Junior Big Mountain Freeskiing and Snowboarding system is comprised of regional events, national events, and one North American Championship. The IFSA is responsible for sanctioning, insurance, protocol, and direction. Crested Butte Mountain Resort will host a Regionals Competition February 14-16, which will be open to Juniors (ages 10-18), Collegiate and 2 Star Freeride World Qualifier competitors. The competitions will take place in Crested Butte's famed Extreme Limits Terrain. There will be 70 reserved quota spots for Collegiate club athletes and the remaining 50 spaces will be open registration for athletes seeking FWQ points in the 2 Star Qualifiers. Junior athletes will be able to compete in their respective age categories and disciplines, including Alpine Ski, Snowboard and Telemark Ski.
