Return of Freeride - 2020 Snowbird FWQ 2*

Adult Freeride returns to Snowbird Mountain Resort for the first time since 2015...

The International Freeskier and Snowboarders Association (IFSA) is beyond excited to announce Region 2’s newest FWQ Tour Stop, and the return of Freeride to Snowbird's legendary terrain.

On Monday, March 16th, 2020, an IFSA-sanctioned Freeride World Qualifying 2* event will grace Snowbird’s slopes. Not since 2015 has an adult Freeride competition graced the terrain of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

As the perennial favorite stop on the IFSA’s Junior Series Tour, Snowbird's terrain demands awe and respect from Freeride skiers and snowboarders young and old. Utah's Wasatch mountain range delivers some of the best Freeride venues in North America, with world class snow, countless lines, and creative options beckoning riders to bring their imagination, talents and "A-Game".

Recording over 350 inches of snow by January’s end, Snowbird is perfectly poised to welcome a Freeride World Tour Qualifying event back to Utah with it’s deep snowpack. The month of March is often a snowy time and Utah’s deep, dry powder provides the perfect raw material for keen Freeriders.

In 2018 and 2019, the IFSA Junior events at Snowbird sold out within seconds. For 2020, the IFSA anticipates a similar demand for our new FWQ 2* event. We hope to welcome many of the same faces who once graced these venues, performing heroic feats of athleticism and laying down creative lines. Many of the former athletes and champions now serve as coaches to IFSA Junior Freeride athletes.
