Why do I lack pre-qualified status for National series registration?

Roughly the top 20% of athletes in each division are allotted Pre-Qualified status and registration priority for our IFSA Junior National Series events. If you have not been allotted a Pre-Qualified spot, you are unfortunately not in that top %.

Pre-Qualified (PreQ) status is based on an athlete’s IFSA Junior Freeride Series Overall Ranking from the season prior. Allocations are made based on a division’s previous year prorated participation rate. The total number of PreQ athlete spots is adjusted annually based on the size of the division in the year previous. Upon athlete request and IFSA Board of Director approval, an injured prequalified athlete that finished two or less events in the previous season may defer their PreQ status to the following season.

National Series Registration is broken into two phases:

- Pre-Qualified athletes register for their 3 preferred National Series events first

- Team Quota athletes (as chosen by coaches of recognized Freeride teams) will then register

For complete information on the registration process for both National Series and Regional Series events, please see the IFSA Junior Series Handbook
